Classes

Ballet

This is the basis of all dance. Ballet requires commitment, discipline and passion. We encourage students to do at least one ballet class a week as it provides sound technique to most genre .The Cecchetti Ballet Method is taught which develops balance, poise, strength ,elevation , flexibility , and artistry in the students.


Pre Primary and Primary – 1 lesson a week
Grade 1-5 – Minimum 2 lessons a weekGrade 6 & Up – 2 set and 1 unset class is recommended
(Hair in a bun with correct dance outfit)

Contemporary

Expressive dance combining elements of modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It sometimes utilises unconventional movements from styles around the world .

Jazz

A structured dance class to upbeat music., this develops co-ordination and listening skills while developing a sound dance technique as the dancer matures.

Tap

“Tap involves the sound of tap shoes striking the floor like a percussion “
It’s an energetic and fun class , coupled with both characteristic and interpretative body movements .

Hip-Hop

This class is based on the current trends in the dance industry, most of which can be seen in todays video hits/shows. It often involves intricate steps which requires strength and agility.

Lyrical

This is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics and modern dance.

Acrobatics

Musical Theatre

Acting, singing and dancing to the music from famous shows and musicals

Uniform Requirements

  • Tiny Tots – Own dress up outfit.
  • Ballet –
    – Prep to Year 2 – Studio Outfit/pink
    – Grade 1 up to 3 Cecchetti Studio Outfit/Lilac
  • – Grade 4 up Cecchetti Studio Outfit/Burgundy
  • Ballet exam leotard – Navy Blue for Grade 4 upwards
  • Hip-Hop – Studio Outfit
  • Jazz – Studio Outfit, Tan Jazz Shoes with Side Elastic and NO Lace Up
  • Tap – Studio Top and Black Leggings/Shorts/Skirt, Tan Tap Shoes
  • Gym – Studio Outfit  and No Shoes
  • Contemporary – Studio Shirt, Black Leggings and Toe Undies
